Why become a Certified Nursing Assistant?

Now is the time to become a CNA; according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of nursing assistants is projected to grow 21 percent from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations. As the baby-boom population ages, the demand for nursing assistants will grow exponentially to care for elderly patients in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes. In addition, growing rates of several chronic conditions and of dementia will lead to increased demand for patient care.

The average growth rate for all occupations is 11 percent.
